Navigating the world as someone who is Deaf or Hard of Hearing brings unique challenges that can impact your emotional wellbeing, relationships, and sense of identity.
As someone who is late-deafened myself, I understand firsthand the complex journey of adapting to hearing loss and the emotional terrain that comes with it. While I’m not fluent in ASL, I’ve completed three semesters of study at Gallaudet University and continue to develop my signing skills. I offer therapy sessions via Zoom with live captions to ensure clear communication, creating a space where you don’t have to worry about being misunderstood or having to constantly advocate for accessibility. Whether you’re processing grief related to hearing loss, managing communication fatigue, navigating relationships across hearing cultures, or addressing anxiety and depression that can accompany these experiences—I’m here to provide support that honors your full experience. Together, we’ll work on strategies that acknowledge both the challenges and the strengths that come with being part of the Deaf/Hard of Hearing community.
