No one like to be told to let go of something. Worrying, ruminating, running something through your brain over and over again…it’s just SO satisfying…until it’s not.
But letting go can feel like loss. When we’ve been holding on so tightly to something, the experience of letting go can be more painful than relieving.
But ultimately, letting go isn’t a loss.
Letting go opens us up. Letting go invites wisdom. Ultimately, letting go is the activity that’s needed so we know which way to move forward.
Not surprisingly, letting go is ultimately liberating. So the next time you catch yourself ruminating about something, when you’re ready, let go, and know that in letting go, you’re giving yourself a great gift.
